All of our Darwin villas enjoy direct access to the sandstone waterfall pools and are gated if required.
Villa 1 The Mimi Villa was named after the ancient Mimi spirit ancestor stories from the Aboriginal Tribes and is decorated accordingly with some fantastic artwork and a very special hand-woven Mimi Rug. The Mimi Villa has real character and style. It is a very comfortable villa for a single, couple or a family.
The upper level has a quiet, cool king size bedroom with an extremely comfortable hand carved banana leaf motif teak king bed with ensuite. The ensuite is huge with large mirrors, river-stone floors and a large dressing room. The floors in the bedroom are softly polished jarrah in a deep rich mahogany colour.
The outlook is a wide exotic birds-eye view over the tops of the palms and through the rainforest which makes waking up in the morning a uniquely tropical experience. The villa is completely air-conditioned or you can enjoy the tropical climate with ceiling fans and the many windows, which means that great breezes come up through the palms from the terraced site and circulate through the rooms.
There is an additional bedroom area on the lower level which can be set up as twin bed ensembles or a very comfortable king bed to suit various family configurations. This area has own bathroom in a architecturally partitioned area (still very private but not quite as private as a fully enclosed area), with air-conditioning and a fan. Again there are multiple windows to enjoy good circulation. All bathrooms have windows as well. This bedroom annexure overlooks your own private and secure, spacious tropical courtyard with vivid flowering bouganvilleas, palms, tree ferns and orchids. This courtyard has direct pool access but can be secured with a lockable gate.
The furniture is quite stunning, leather and coconut wood - very Ernest Hemingway and lush and relaxing. It has an amazing tropical look and is something very different. It was made in Fiji by Pacific Green. There is a large lounge area, a full kitchen, a well equipped laundry, hairdryers, a full size refrigerator, dishwasher as well as Flat screen cable television with ample channels and fast free wireless internet which is simply perfect for emails and communications although large downloads are by request. All quality linen is provided, soft lush towels and beautifully co-ordinated bed linen. A welcome bottle of Champagne and some icy beer is complimentary as well as start up continental breakfast supplies including fresh country baked bread, fresh milk, butter, jams, teas, coffee and quality cereals. Rainwater is piped into the villa and it has its own rainwater tank and solar hot water.
The front sandstone courtyard and entrance area with its own tropical terraced garden beds has a large coconut wood table with simply wonderful leather chairs for indoor outdoor dining and is accessed via Antique Chinese Gates from Beijing which are nearly 300 years old. There is a wonderful large tropical painting of a market place scene which helps give the courtyard a welcoming feel.
The feeling is 'loft style' with loads of natural light and breezes and has strong architectural styling.
Flat screen Television
Our 'Spa' villa comes with two private sandstone courtyards. The large private sandstone front courtyard is accessed via a huge set of sliding Antique Chinese Fortress Gates. A crystal clear sandstone 6-8 person spa completes this private paradise which has masses of bamboo in huge hand-glazed red Chinese pots.
Large, open and airy with views of the palms and tropical gardens, this villa also has a rear courtyard with a large dining table and chairs for al fresco dining with direct waterfall pool access, able to be gated. This villa has architectural glass sliding oversize doors and windows to enjoy the breezes.
There is a large lounge furnished beautifully with tropical art, lamps and teak and leather furniture. There is Free cable flat screen television and DVD player, cool rose beige slate tiles. The laundry is spacious with a top loading machine and there are a total of three showers, one has rainwater or hot and cold water in a Bali-style indoor outdoor configuration and is comfortable, airy and private. The other two bathrooms are internal and so there are two toilets and two extra showers make sharing very easy. The villa is fully air-conditioned and also has copious numbers of fans and oversize windows if you want to enjoy the tropical climate au naturale. The full kitchen is on the lower level, has rainwater piped into the kitchen for cooking and drinking.
The bedrooms are all on the upper levels. The floors on the upper level are softly polished jarrah. On this level is a separate toilet and a cool tropical bathroom. There is a king size bedroom with gorgeous linen in soft creams and white - a frangipani theme runs throughout in tasteful soft shades. A 2nd King size bedroom with Chinese Antique wardrobes ( this bedroom can be converted to two very comfortable twin ensembles if you need to have the extra bedding) and an alcove bedroom area or annexure which has a very comfortable double foldout bed. This area has banks of windows , wardrobe facilities and a fan. The feel of this villa is light, airy bringing the outside in. Oversize architectural windows have garden and spa outlooks. Very tropical and serene.
Villa 3 The Orchid Villa is ideal for 2 couples or 1 couple and either 2 singles or a single. There is space for an extra single 'luxury rollaway' It is comfortable access for someone who has problems with stairs as they are minimized in this villa. Two king bedrooms both with ensuites, private sandstone courtyard with direct pool access and two verandahs and three showers make this villa a perfect hideaway for good friends.
There is a rainwater shower with a stunning Acrylic "Garden Goddess" privacy screen by renowned Territory artist Anet Martin. The feel of this villa is rich and sensuous with beautiful Asian artifacts.
The Orchid Villa has one king bed with ensuite on the upper level in a very large beautiful King size bedroom. This bedroom has stunning teak and glass doors that fold right back onto the coconut wood verandah. The verandah is private and has a leather and teak lazy boy to recline and enjoy the latest best seller or just to enjoy the giant pots of golden cane palms and the birdsong under a fan. This bedroom has a bedroom sized television set, lovely matching teak furniture with banana motifs and cool softly polished coconut wood flooring. It has an antique Chinese feel with a beautiful blue and white accessories, an antique Dragon and Pearl Chinese rug and stunning linen.
On the lower level there is one beautiful King bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. This bedroom can be converted into two extremely comfortable luxury singles.
This room looks out onto a private space with rare botanical fig trees in large antique Chinese terracotta pots and a serene nearly life-size Buddha. There is an antique laquered butterfly Chinese wardrobe and a comfortable King bed made up in gorgeous linen.
The spacious lounge is on this level and has beautiful leather and teak furniture, cushions, lamps, a cd player and a DVD player and also a full size Flat Screen television. The kitchen is full size and is designed to open out onto a pebbled deck.
A big verandah of coconut wood and soft pebble finish marble leads off the lounge and dining areas. It has a simple teak and marble antique Dutch table for a tete de tete amongst the palms and a shaded sitting area with another Dutch antique teak table for four under fans. The villa has direct pool access via a beautiful sandstone courtyard through orchids, palms and perfumed shrubs.
Villa 4 has a rainforest theme and was the Villa chosen for the Christmas edition of Vogue Entertaining and Travel - "The top 20 Holiday homes in Australia" There is a huge upstairs bedroom with art and rugs and steamer trunks. The room has views out to the rainforest and the palm tree tops. It is absolutely ideal for those who love to watch the storms or moonlight filtering through the enormous palms. Coconut wood floors are soft and silky underfoot and cool. This bedroom has a large airy ensuite with stone floors, double vanities and is louvred for flow thru breezes. There is a bedroom sized television set in its own teak cabinet on this level.
This is a true VIP villa The Villa overlooks the pools and has perfumed shrubs to enhance the evening breezes.
The queen size bedroom has a Chinese elm luxurious Queen bed and is on the lower level. It is a serene and very comfortable room.???? We often have guests travelling with perhaps an older family member or one child and this is an ideal and very nurturing space. There is a canopy of breezy white netting making this room very special. There is an indoor outdoor bathroom Bali Style for this bedroom. A large lounge has doors which slide back into the walls creating a fully open flow to the rainforest, pool view verandah. The verandah offers a marble and teak table (a Dutch Indonesian antique) with comfy cushioned teak chairs. There is also two leather and teak lazy boys on which to recline, enjoy that Gin and Tonic or just doze amongst the palms and birds.
This villa does afford a much closer relationship with nature and you will see and hear orange footed scrub fowl nesting and teaching their chicks to forage, a rare white possum and his offspring and other rainforest inhabitants including large green tree frogs in the rainy season.
A full kitchen with all facilities makes entertaining a breeze, there are copious quality glasses, dinner service, dishwasher and oven. There is a flat screen television, DVD and CD player.
The feel of the Rainforest is secluded Jungle Jim meets Manhattan. The Jim Thompson Silk King feel.
Tropically peaceful with fragrant breezes, this Villa is tucked into the tall palms and is right on the edge of the rainforest and bamboo groves. Birdsong offers perfect privacy as it is completely free standing and protected by stands of palms and gingers. As with the Rainforest Villa this villa is up close and personal with nature. A possum may drop in for some fresh fruit and shinny up the palms to show you how clever he is or birds may come to seek some company. We encourage the wild-life.
The entrance is unique with the Hanuman Monkey King Statue protecting the property. He is complete with perfumed Red Suva Frangipani trees to protect and enhance his purple temple umbrella. Coconut wood floors are softly polished and lead to a large coconut wood verandah overlooking a magnificent courtyard which has exotic bamboo, fabulous plants and ferns. Wonderful artwork and a spacious airy lounge complete with a large flat screen television leads out to a coconut deck This is a perfect villa for a VIP visit, a special occasion or holiday.
The 2ND smaller bedroom offers a king bed and small walk-in robe on the lower level. It is comfortable and private with louvred windows overlooking a private garden and within earshot of the waterfall. This bedroom can be made up with two luxury single ensembles if there is the need for twin accommodation instead of the normal King. There is an airy indoor outdoor Bali bathroom on this level complete with rainwater shower and traditional hot and cold showers.
The King-size Master bedroom is accessed via teak stairs and is a true tropical masterpiece. Perfect polished coconut wood floors make this very large room cool and comfortable. Lovely views of palm tops and bamboo forests make waking a joy. A large ensuite with soft marble stone floors is airy and open.
